He was also, at various times, a farmer and a schoolmaster, and his many talents included playing the piano, chess, and bridge. He was also an avid collector of antiques and objets d'art.

Stephen Thorne as the detective, his voice is so distinctive as well as John Shrapnel, I did so enjoy this, far better than any modern detective/crime drama they make for TV these days, listening on radio gets the imagination geared up, thank you “radioannouncer for downloading this.
