Theater Five
Theater Five was an anthology series that aired on ABC Radio, starting in August 1964. This innovative program featured 20-minute episodes five days a week, showcasing a variety of genres including adventure, drama, science fiction, and comedies. The series was notable for its use of New York's finest radio actors and was announced by the familiar voice of Fred Foy, who had previously announced the Lone Ranger radio series.
Despite the efforts of radio executives and production staff who believed in the potential of radio drama, Theater Five only lasted one year. Out of the 260 episodes produced, 256 still exist. This particular recording is a "space-age drama" and is the 20th episode, preserved in excellent sound quality from a 7.5ips full track reel recording.
This recording is part of the Old Time Radio collection.
